Design & Craftsmanship

Ethergraf® is the modern heir to silverpoint — an ancient technique in which a metal tip leaves a mark on paper through natural oxidation rather than ink or graphite. It was this very quality that made the original Pininfarina Space pen suitable for space stations, where graphite debris from ordinary pencils poses a real risk to onboard filtration systems; a unit was carried to the ISS and used by astronauts during the V.I.T.A. mission.
